Daily Feline Post: Strike a Feline Chord

Do you play an instrument? Is there a musical instrument whose sound you find particularly pleasing? Tell us a story about your experience or relationship with an instrument of your choice.

Tabby

“Tabby what’s that noise.”

“I’m practicing.”

“For what”

“Me and the felines thought we could do some serenading outside, after all it will soon be Catmas and Bastet appreciates some meow music, like Catmas Carolimeow”

“But Bastet is not here, she is the chief of the eternal corn chambers somewhere in another dimension, at least so you told me.”

“Bastet hears everything, but we have to meow especially loud at Catmas so that she can hear us

Good Cat Wenceslas looked out
On the feast of Bastet
When catnip laid roundabout
And felines were getting pasted
All the felines getting high
Though the dogs were howling
Hissing felines drove them off
All together meow-ow-ing

How was that Mrs. Human?”

“I am not sure Tabby, but perhaps as a mere human I do not understand the meaning of Catmas.”

“And here is my Catmas wish list.”

“But it is very repetitive. Position 1-10 is the same, a tin of tuna fish.”

“Yes Mrs. Human, we felines are satisfied with small quantities I wrote the other 10 items on the back of the paper, because there was no room left.”

“But it is the same, except for the last position which says “a catnip tree”.”

“No problem Mrs. Human, if you cannot find a tree, a bush will do.

“On the first day of Catmas my human said to me
Partridge and mouse in catnip tree.”

Oh yes, the Catmas season is wonderful.”

  1. 'Good Cat Wenceslas' made me laugh out loud!! Perhaps felines have a greater sense of humour than I gave them credit for!!

    1. the problem being that "laugh" is also not in meow. They take everything so seriously.
