Morning. I have only just seen your message. I am having trouble connecting with you. I can never find where to send you a message as when i click on your name it takes me to Google + and there doesn't seem to be a message part there. could just be me of course!
Where in Stratford was your dad born? my dad was born in Station road. I still have an aunt in Bethnal green! Also have relatives buried in Woodgrange cemetry!
What a coincidence. Hope you have a great weekend.
Hi Pat. Just saw your comment in my guestbook about Joanne. I really should check my guestbook more often!! Thanks for your concern. Considering the devastation all around, she was extremely lucky that she and her house and pets all came through it unscathed. Power is still out, and we can only communicate via cell-phone massages. She's helping out at work as much as possible, as the only other alternative is to sit at home with no lights.
Hi. been reading your blog. I see you have associations with Dagenham. i lived there from 1958 after moving from dalston. i knew a family with the suname of of 'Relf' there in the early 60s. when i was a schoolboy. they lived in a road called Bennetts Casle Lane. i lived in Lindisfarne road which is a turning off same. any connections there for you?. Regards, Brian. Hurst Green, East Sussex
Hello Brian and thanks for looking in. My dad lives just off Dagenham Heathway, but I think the Relfs you knew were my dad's cousin. He had lost contact with him, but found him through the Dagenham Post where they brought an article about his war expeiriences as a POW in Japan. They also mentioned he was a milkman when he met his wife. Anyhow, my dad phoned the Dagenham Post and there was a reunion after many years - also featured in the newspaper. I visited him on one of my trips to London and looking at the map of Dagenham, it must have been him living in that area. His health was never very good due to the war experiences and a few years ago he just seemed to disappear. My dad is now 97 years old and the Relf we mean was about the same age.
~smile~ ... thanks for popping in on my creative challenge ... I too have added you to my readers list so as not to miss any more of those feline tales ....
Hello Alexander and am pleased to see you here. I actually understood your wonderful Russian comment and thankyou. Please bear with me, I learnt Russian for more than ten years but do not have enough opportunity to speak it and unfortunately I have to programme cyrillic on my computer, I can only do it by copy paste.
FTC in your guestbook, Pat!!
