Daily Feline Prompt: Wicked Felines

Write about evil: how you understand it (or don’t), what you think it means, or a way it’s manifested, either in the world at large or in your life.

“Based on historical truths, we felines can write a book about the misunderstandings that occurred in the past. Many were the ancestors that met their end being burnt at the stake with their humans, accused of having an evil influence on human existence. We were even discriminated because of our colour. My late sister Nera could tell you tales of her long furred black ancestors with the yellow eyes. Admittedly Nera’s eyes did tend to turn red at full moon and Halloween, but that was probably a pigmentation deficiency. We felines were never evil, just misunderstood.”

“Tabby, are you holding one of your lectures.”

“Yes Mrs. Human, I am composing a thesis on the imaginary evil in felines. And now to something completely different.”

“Oh how sweet Tabby, you are playing with your pawpad. What game is that?”

“It is quite good. It is called kill the mouse. When you have squashed it in the mouse trap, the screen shows blood trickling down.”

“How macarbre, you mean all red.”

“It is not macabre Mrs. Human, it is a realistic game and blood is always red. Look when I pounce on the mouse and catch it my pawpad makes a noise like “bang” and the mouse screams. The grand finale is when the butterflies arrive. They flutter around and whistle like a bird and then I get to phase 2.”

“What is phase 2.”

“That is the advanced step. I have to kill five butterflies before they are eaten by the werewolf.”

“Err Tabby, where did you get that game.”

“I ordered it from a company in Transylvania, “Blood Games Unlimited”.
