Daily Feline Prompt: Grand Feline Slam

In your own life, what would be the equivalent of a walk-off home run? (For the baseball-averse, that’s a last-minute, back-against-the-wall play that guarantees a dramatic victory.)

Present from my cats

“What do you think Fluffy?”

“About the photo Tabby?”

“Of course. That was my grand slam.”

“You don’t think it might be a bit of a shock for all of our faithful followers?”

“Definitely not Fluffy, that is a feline’s life. If it moves, has a tail and whiskers and a pointed nose, then kill it and eat it.”

“But you didn’t eat it.”

“I was going to, but Mrs. Human came along, said a few loud human words, took a plastic bag and wrapped it up and put it in the garbage.”

“Those humans really show no respect Tabby and I am sure you were proud.”

“Of course I was. I wonder how Mrs. Human would feel if I captured a chicken leg from her lunch plate and would throw it away. No justice for us felines. She even found words for the dead mouse, something like “poor little mouse and naughty Tabby.”

“I caught a bird once in my seeing days. You should have heard the fuss she made. She even managed to take it before I made the kill. If it hadn’t flown away on its own afterwards, I am sure she would have taken it to that Vet place.”

“and probably done some cardiopulmonary resuscitation as well. You know like trying to bring it back to life.”

“She can’t help it Tabby, it seems to be in human nature.”

“Fluffy, just wait a minute. I can see a lost mouse on the edge of the field. I will go and help him to find the way.”

“OK Tabby, but save a leg for me.”

  1. You have to admit you have a pair of fabulous kitties there Pat; and a great imagination.

Minx killed a rat on our driveway and got poisoned. She didn't eat it either. Her kidneys collapsed. She may have eaten some of the poison put down for the rats, don't know.
Take extra care after seeing that please Pat.
    Huggles.

  2. My neighbour's cat left one for me outside my back door a few days ago.
