Daily Feline Prompt: Can't Stand me

What do you find more unbearable: watching a video of yourself, or listening to a recording of your voice? Why?

What a silly question. I know I am a modest feline, keep myself to myself and rarely brag about how good I am or how clever I am. I have so many talents there would not be enough scope in this blog to mention all. Mrs. Human is full of praise how I help her in my home with eating the tuna fish she gives me, although only twice a week, but you cannot have everything I suppose.

I am also very good at using my recycling tray and always remind Mrs. Human to empty it when necessary. Did I tell you that I am an expert at defending my territory? Unfortunately it might happen that I am busy sleeping when one of my feline friends decide to invade my private sphere, but Mrs. Human is watching for me if necessary.

Today I found a wonderful new sleeping place. It was a cupboard full of human clothes and the door was open. I mean what would you do, as a feline. You jump in and make yourself comfortable. There was a small commotion when Mr. Human almost closed the cupboard door on me, but I reminded her to leave the door open and put a label on the door saying “do not close, Tabby seeping place” which worked quite well. I was left in peace until I noticed that Mrs. Human was preparing for her golden oldie midday sleep. I decided to accompany her as sleeping on a human bed is an improvement on a cupboard.

And Mrs. Human took my photo in the cupboard.

Mrs. Human said to apologise (a word which does not exist in Meow) for the dark photo. It seems the cupboard has no human light and I told her to keep it that way. Who needs light, we felines can see in the dark.

I don’t mind myself really. Since I arrived on that memorable day on 6th December 1946 I have been living with myself, watch myself grow, listened to my own voice every day. There have been times when due to a throat infection that I had lost may voice and remain silent for a while, but I survived. There were even some that found being voiceless was an improvement on my general appearance.

I am never unbearable, just a little annoying from time to time when I get a daily prompt that absolutely does not inspire me in any way.

I have often seen myself in a mirror in the bathroom when improving my general perfect appearance with a tweak here and there. Of course there is alway room for improvement, but my general appearance is OK. Unfortunately I have not yet been discovered by the film or television industry, but it is never too late.

And that’s all for today. I wanted to impress you all with a video from my iPhone but unfortunately that does not work and in any case it would spoil the picture you all have of me from my blogs. However before I go just a self portrait

WordPress Daily Prompt: Can't Stand Me

What do you find more unbearable: watching a video of yourself, or listening to a recording of your voice? Why?

At the time it seems fun. It was on a Site called Bestsellers and Literature where we all knew each other and there was a little game we were playing to introduce each other. It was the year 2007. I was already grey, but a little younger and more active, so I introduced myself. This video is still on YouTube, although not a record breaker, thank goodness. I now rarely visit this site, although still have contact with various members mainly through Facebook. They were really good old days where we read books, discussed what we were reading and the lady that organises the site was perfect.

Bestsellers and Literature

I find it my recording completely unbearable, but how else can I become famous. If a talent scout from Pulitzer or Nobel is watching, he will definitely decide that when he nominates me as a prize winning blogger, he will find that an introductory video of me will be perfect.

I do not like my voice, be it in German or English and I really understand when you prefer to see me rather than hear me, although both is something I do not need. It is not that I cannot stand me, I get on OK with me, now and again I have a few misunderstanding with my brain like forgetting where I put something.

We lost a pair of scissors this morning which Mr. Swiss needed most urgently. The last time we lost them he had put them in a bag whilst repairing something and put the bag in the cellar when the something was repaired. I did remind him of this whilst we were searching, but he was sure he would not make the same mistake twice. To reassure everyone he did not. I put them in the wrong drawer. I used them to cut string and put them away with the ball of string. They were found and the situation was saved.

I have another fantastic, spectacular, video of myself in the garden, cutting the pampas grass. My voice cannot be heard so well over the noise of the machine, but Mr. Swiss makes a few comments – in Swiss German. The few words I say are also in Swiss German, so it is no problem if you cannot hear them. This was six years ago, with my new look short hair.
