RRC #55: Let Them Free

Elephants

Elephants marching one by one
Across the wall in rows they come
Colourfully dressed and ready to go
Plodding carefully, plodding slow
Imprisoned on paper, they want to be free
To live in the jungle, beneath a tree
They called to Ganesha the elephant god
They trumpeted loud and he gave them a nod
So one dark night when all were asleep
The elephants crossed the wall in a creep
Ganesha watched with a knowing look
As the first elephant fell to the ground and took
his strides to freedom, the others to follow
Back to the jungle, in mud to wallow
On the next morning when light hit with a wink
The elephants were gone, just a background of pink
