It is Son of Blob (I was cleaning the bathroom sink and decided to grab my camera and do one of those spectacular Pulitzer price photos - I played a bit with it afterwards).
Fascinating photo, having fun trying to work out exactly what it is. I'm assuming soap bubbles.
