WordPress Daily Prompt: Mirror, Mirror On the Wall

Think of your blog as a mirror: what does it reveal? Consider your blog name, theme choice, design, bio, posts… what does every element tell you about yourself?

Photographers, artists, poets: show us REFLECTIONS.

At last a chance to tell how gifted my blogging vein is. Thank you WordPress, a blog made for I, me and myself.

The mirror of my personality – let us being with the name. It reveals all. My double identity, who am I? A virtual creation made in the computer world; a personality able to conquer everything without being physically exhausted. Anglo-Swiss showing my multinational qualities: twenty years based in England and the rest in Switzerland.

Mr. Swiss says “do not overdo it, you are writing on a theme and not to win the Nobel prize for literature” - what does he know?

I must give credit to Mitch, a faithful follower of my blogs. He once used the term “your cat chronicles” when describing my feline stories and I found this a very good description, so why not apply it for my blogs. That is how the name “Anglo Swiss Chronicles” arose and my second blog dedicated to my feline owners “The Cat Chronicles”. I have known Mitch since my Multiply days and he is now one of my Blogger friends and a super photographer to go with it.

a
nd a short description of my interesting life. Note the professional pose as I support my head with my hands. It was more luck than judgement and not really intended, but I am sure it looks good when my super professional blog style is at last recognised by the Blogging Authorities. It has to look good when I eventually reach the first rung to the ladder of success.

“Yes Mr. Swiss, I know, I know” another small interruption on my laudation for I, me and myself.

To continue: my posts are my outlook on life perhaps. Keep the private stuff private (you never know who is reading these words of wisdom), stay away from politics as politicians change their opinions so often, it is a waste of time to keep up with it. What I write today is completely different next week. Do not post photos of others unless you have permission to do so. “Yes Mr. Swiss I always ask before I show your photo.” – another interruption. Use only your own photos if possible as they might be your chance to fame as they are original. Avoid YouTube: I like a good piece of jazz music, Paolo Conte, ACDC, as well as Verdi operas – and you? You see that is the problem, my exquisite taste is not that of the others.

What does every element tell you about yourself? Fairly obvious really: I am modest, would never boast about my qualities as a writer, photographer, linguistic expert, musician (yes, I play piano, but just do not have the time to practice through my blog writing) and above all I strive to attain recognition for my blogging talents.

“Mr. Swiss, where are you going? Ah, for a walk, my blog is boring you.”

That is the problem being a successful blogger, some call it jealousy and others find it boring, over-estimation.

“What did you say Mr. Swiss? Self-praise is no recommendation?”

Funny my mum used to say that to me when I was younger. No appreciation for talented people ………..

  1. Thanks for the mention. It's good to know I helped such a successful blogger, even in such a small way. LOL.

As you know, there used to be a time when I was never short of a few words on many subjects and would blog about many different things, but these days I don't feel the same inclination. I guess it's because I spend more time on my photography these days, and a lot of my remaining spare time goes into running 'Picture This'.
