WordPress Daily Prompt: Shape Up or Ship Out

Write a letter to the personality trait you like least, convincing it to shape up or ship out. Be as threatening, theatrical, or thoroughly charming as is necessary to get the job done.

Photographers, artists, poets: show us UGLY.

Dear Stubborn

Well, come to think of it, you are not so bad. If you put your foot down and emphasise the fact that you are right, why not. Ok, you do annoy some people from time to time, but living in a country where you had to learn the language, had to learn how people live, had to find out how they think, you do not do so badly. You even had to adjust your food tastes to their way. Just carry on. There is always someone that tells you how it should be, so just keep your mouth shut from time to time, or say things a little quieter.

We all have our crosses to bear, some more than others.

Of course you did the wrong thing when you decided to replant one of the gardens. Bushes, even trees, and spreading plants instead of a nice neat lawn, which would have been a lot less work, and even more pleasing to the eye. But no, Mrs. Stubborn you had to do it your way. Eventually a gardener had to save the catastrophe by replanting the lawn surrounded by some nice sensible flower beds.

You always want things done your way. You clean the windows when everyone wants a quiet life in the afternoon. You decide to wash all the curtains in the evening, just because the electricity is half price from nine in the evening. You are always doing things when others would rather take five.

Remember when you were playing those stupid silly games in Facebook, and organised your routine to fit them in. OK Mrs. Sensible fixed that one and stopped the silly habit. Mrs. Stubborn you really did not do me any favours on that one. As if cooking 200 dishes in an imaginative kitchen was the essence of life and gaining a few higher levels in the culinary scale. You made me live to have fictitious success in a fictitious restaurant, but Mrs. Sensible won and got it all out of my system. I got my life back, more time, and above all started doing really sensible things – like writing blogs?

OK nobody is perfect and before I engage myself in more self-criticism I think I will come to an end. This seems to be going in a silly direction. That, of course is the fault of Mrs. Stupid who tends to take over now and again. Sometimes I think my brain is one big battleground, all you traits fighting it out wanting to be the best.

Apparently Mrs. Stubborn, you are the one with the most negative details, so in future I will keep my mouth shut and let the others decide – or??????

Your eternal victim

    1. To be quite honest I was so convinced that I am perfect, I asked Mr. Swiss if I had any negative traits. Before he started to make a list I took the first one he said.
By the way I bought my Canon g15 camera and it is really super. It makes great macros. At the moment I am still on a learning curve, but the main stuff I already have under control. and it fits nicely into my handbag.
